Hi, I’m Jen.

Like many, I watch the news, I feel the sharp tension vibrating through our city streets. I see the fear in our immigrant communities as federal presence, ICE and CBP, disrupts daily life, leaving neighbors (both citizens and non-citizens) afraid to step outside for work or groceries. I see the exhaustion in the eyes of protesters fighting for the soul of our state, and I see local law enforcement caught in the middle, trying to maintain peace in a fractured landscape.

As a parent living in suburbia, it isn't always feasible to drive into the city to volunteer in person. I can’t always be on the front lines, but I refuse to be a silent bystander. I wanted a way to contribute that was safe for my child, manageable for a busy schedule, and deeply impactful for the person on the receiving end. And so I asked myself, "How can I help from here?"

The Purpose of a Note

This project was born from the belief that no one should feel like an outsider in their own neighborhood.

Why Cards?

A card or note is a quiet but powerful act of resistance against fear. It’s a tangible "Paper Hug" that says: I am thinking of you. You are not alone. You belong. This site is a bridge for those of us who want/need to contribute to the mental health and safety of our community from our kitchen tables. It’s a way to teach our children that even when the world feels overwhelming, we can always reach out a hand, a pen, or a crayon, to pull someone closer.

We aren't just sending cards; we’re sending reminders that our community is connected, that mental health matters, and that no one is truly alone.

Thank you for helping me turn a little bit of paper into a lot of hope.
