The Paper Hug Project
Sending hugs, one card at a time
Making a local impact on Minneapolis streets, from wherever you are.
When the federal government makes our neighbors feel unwelcome and our local advocates feel exhausted, we choose to speak up. This project is a bridge for those who can’t be on the front lines but refuse to be bystanders. We provide a way for everyone (children too) to support the mental health of our city by writing directly to those who need it most: our immigrant families, our advocates, and our local peacekeepers. We aren't just sending mail; we are sending proof that Minnesota is a state of neighbors who care.
Write: Grab a card, notecard, or just a plain piece of paper (store-bought or handmade).
Message: Use our prompts for inspiration or write from the heart.
Send/Drop: Mail your cards to our P.O. Box to be delivered to our immigrant neighbors, advocates, and peacekeepers.
its ok to mail multiple cards in one large envelope (all cards will be opened and screened to ensure they are appropriate)
where possible, please organize/tag your cards by group (immigrant neighbors, advocates, peacekeepers)
